Los Paraderos de la Costa

A photobook about the bus stops at the sea coast of Valdivia and their hidden stories.

Each bus stops is built in a different way. The material, the shapes and the colors change. Most of them carry graffitis on their walls. With the help of friends and locals I could encode some of the messages. It was an amazing starting point for discussion and allowed me to ask questions about very sensitive political topics and social issues which are affecting the region.

The book is binded as a leporello with a punching line for every page, which reminds the long bus ticket stripe. The images are arranged on the page according to the altitude of the paraderos and their position in relation to the road. While reading the book you can feel the movement of the bus running along the coast.
